Questions and Answers

Can you verify the collection name and finish you used in this kitchen design?
Everitt Pull in Warm Brass.
Tell us about why you chose Atlas Homewares for this design.
The faux screw heads on the Everitt pull show as a detail on the front, and it was the perfect edgy accent we were looking for.
Describe the project and how you fulfilled your plans for the space.
This was a full kitchen and family room renovation designed for both aesthetics and functionality.
Tell us about yourself and your firm, your design style and/or passion/inspiration?
I’m a big art enthusiast who loves mashing up styles and making them work together. I gravitate toward clean, minimal spaces but also lean into maximalism. I’m endlessly inspired by nature — the colors, the forms, and even the math!
Where do you go to get new ideas and inspiration?
I love exploring old and new hotels, flipping through classic design books, and discovering work from emerging artists and designers. I try to avoid digital sources and find inspiration in tangible places. I also love a good showhouse!
Did you visit a showroom for the hardware? If so, where did you visit?
Yes, the hardware is featured in our showroom: Distinctive Design Group.
What hardware trends are you seeing today?
I’m loving sleek designs and a touch of hammered glitz — a little sparkle goes a long way.
What new trends are you observing in kitchens and bathrooms?
Color is definitely making a comeback. We’re seeing intricate countertop and trim details with nods to traditional elements. Cabinet panels featuring fabric instead of hard surfaces are also gaining popularity.
Do you have any tips about how to choose the best hardware for your space, lifestyle, and/or style preferences?
I think hardware is where you can bring so much fun and really seal the look into a room. If you want to go bigger divide your cabinet faces into thirds and allow for an additional 2-3 inches on your hardware to help it really stand out.
What’s the best interior design lesson you have learned?
Measure, measure again, and triple-check all your documents to ensure everything matches!
At what point in the design process do you typically select decorative hardware?
We like to save the best for last! It is often one of the least stressful and most fun parts of design, for both us the designers and the clients. The hard part is over and now it's reward time. It is fun and engaging and really brings in important details that create the mood and personality of the room. It's like going shopping and finding everything you love!
Have you ever mixed and matched hardware styles or finishes in a project? If so, tell us about that process.
Yes, we mix and match finishes all the time. Sometimes we mix and match hardware with different appliance pulls or larger cabinet hardware. It is fun to be creative as long as the style and finish reads back to each other and is complimentary.
What has your overall experience been like working with Atlas Homewares—from selection to installation?
We love the diversity in styles and finishes. The team is great to work with from start to finish. The pieces are easy to install, have a great weight to them and last for years! We love Atlas!
